With power lifting and limiting carbs to a dangerous level could be causing a lot of your issues. Are you type 1 or 2 and what meds are you on? Test before and after lifting and also see your doctor for a urine test for ketone. This is a poison produced by your muscles when you do not eat enough carbs.

I got most of mine back... mainly with a healthy, natural foods based diet and lots of aerobic exercise.

Are you talking 20 servings of carbs? 20 carbs is hardly enough to exist on. Your body needs the nutrients in those carbs. Your intake should be at least 30 to 40 per day.

There are lots of things one can do besides straight intercourse. Talking with her, expressing your feelings, and exchanging ideas is the best way to deal with that situation. There are also lots of supplements a guy can take besides the harsh drugs like Viagra, Levitra, and Cialis. Here's a list that might help...

Enzyte ingredients:
horny goat weed extract (Epimedium sagittatum)(10% flavonoids as icariin) (whole plant)
L-arginine HCl
Ginkgo biloba leaf 6:1 extract
saw palmetto berry
Tribulus terrestris extract (10% saponins) (stem and fruit)
Panax ginseng root extract (4% ginsenosides)
vegetable cellulose
Swedish flower pollen extract
Avena sativa (aerial parts)
zinc gluconate
maca root
niacin
zinc citrate
zinc oxide
copper oxide
muira puama stem 4:1 extract
copper gluconate
octacosanol

I'm not a wife, but I CAN tell you that you need to be asking these question of a UROLOGIST, not a bunch of "yahoos" on Yahoo.

This is a SERIOUS problem, and needs medical treatment. There is no real reason why you HAVE to live with this, especially at 37.

You seem to have SERIOUS Erectile Dysfunction (ED), and are probably considered impotent. What is scary is that ED has been found to be a leading indicator of heart problems. Men who are diagnosed with ED often end up with heart problems within 5 years.

Based on your description of the problem, it may be that you already have heart disease -- and are a heart attack waiting to happen.

I know it's easier to talk about these things on the internet than it is to look a doctor in the eye, but that IS what you need to do. Go to a UROLOGIST, and discuss the problem. They are trained to handle these problems, and hopefully yours isn't past the point of being repaired.

You have many options:
1) Control the diabetes and most of your "ability" should return
2) Several drugs that help (Viagra, Cialis, Levitra)
3) Injections directly into the penis to dilate clogged blood vessels
4) Mechanical devices like pumps and rings.
5) Both solid and "expandable" penile implants (for those men who are completely impotent due to peripheral neuropathy nerve damage)

BTW: Power lifting does nothing for your penis.

I fully understand what you are feeling, well atleast from the ladies side. My ex husband was a juvenile diabetic and he had very brittle diabetes. I sawhim as low as 10 and as high as 1495. He too had this problem. We actually went for 5 yrs without, before he lefy us and divorced me. If you have a lady that loves you, she will understand. Sex is NOT the marriage or relarionship, it is just a benefit. I am now diabetic and I can tell you as a woman, the diabetes effects my libido. I have no sex drive, I could care less about it physically. Mentally I still want it. My husband understands and does not push me. I am so sorry you are going through this. The difference in you and I is that I can still just make myself do it. But having been on the other end with my ex, if you can stay emotionally attached and still give her passion and romance, she will have everything she needs. There are other things you can do to give her pleasure if you like, but for a commited woman, it isn't necessary. Good Luck

May the Lord bless you. I've heard foods like oatmeal and fish do help. Lots of nuts and Ginseng tea may help too.

There are ways you can satisfy your wife without you having an erection. There are also ways your doctor can help you with these issues. Talk to your wife and find out what HER feelings on this subject are. I am sure she will love and support you no matter what, especially since you seem to be concerned about her feelings in this
