What Can an Illinois Nursing Home Abuse Lawyer Do, Anyway?
A lawyer isn’t just for litigation. If you have a loved one in an Illinois nursing home, you may need a lawyer even if they’re not actually suffering nursing home abuse or neglect. There may be times that you don’t see eye to eye with the nursing home your parent or spouse is living in. Food, lack of privacy, problematic roommates, and the overall level of quality care may all be points of dispute. First, work your way up the chain of command, from supervisor to owner to ombudsman. If this doesn’t help, a lawyer may be able to put the needed pressure on the home to resolve the issue. Of course, consider that using a lawyer may cause them to fight fire with fire. So if you have to involve an attorney, it may be time to remove them from the home, anyway.
