      if you treat it well you can live just as long as any other person. My grandma had that. she just passed away last year from old age. She was 97, almost 98.

      If you take vigilant watch over your blood glucose levels and take good care of yourself (especially in later years when the sensory nerves might start getting damaged) and you prevent small injuries to progress unattended, you should be able to have a normal life expectancy, your ‘quality’ of life will be more challenging however. It will need that constant patience and work on your side! Good luck!

      Insulin wasn’t discovered until 1921 and not readily available till several years later.
      We do not yet have 100 years of research on the subject.

      The people who say they know people close to 100 who are great probably didn’t get type 1 till later in life. You can get it at any time.

      The options are open and endless.
