What exercise can a 75yr old do to lose weight? She has bad knees and bad feet and is very over weight and is afraid of water. She is trying to avoid becoming a diabetic, so where can I get a meal planner or a list of dos and don’ts?

Make sure she eats very healthy, and with bad knees and feet…. I don’t know how bad they are, but I have a bad hip and feet, and besides swimming, the best exercise is probably the bike… so if she could join a gym and just bike every day for an hour (while listening to music or reading so its not as boring), it should be extremely beneficial for her health.

Here is a link to a great website for Diabetes. I don’t know if there are any exercises listed there, but there is a lot of info as to who to talk to, nutrition, and links to more resources…
Cheers and best of health

Hi,
I needed to lose 50 pounds too. So I bought two great books, they offer great diet tips too.
Dr. Barnard’s Program for Reversing Diabetes.
The PH Miracle for Diabetes by Dr. Young.
They both have diet plans that help a diabetic lose weight, and can help healthy people too.
The water should be her friend, and she should drink lots of water. No need to swim in it.
Good Luck,
Happy New Year !
