Simple Diet Tips
If you have ever tried to lose weight, you know that there is a plethora of information available to help you in this endeavor. You can read diet tips in all the popular magazines and the bookshelves are filled with diet books. Some of the best diet tips that have helped me are the following.
Drink a lot of water. This has never been a problem for me as I love water and drink it constantly. A big waste of calories is to drink sugar-laden sodas, juice or coffee with added cream and sugar. Do not go grocery shopping on an empty stomach or you will be certain to over-buy and buy all the wrong foods. Stay away from simple carbohydrates like white potatoes, white rice and pasta. These are a downfall of mine because they are easy for me to overeat.
Try to get regular exercise, even if it is only walking an extra 20 or 30 minutes a day. I have also found that standing more frequently helps. I have a desk that raises at work, so I try to remember to stand up and work for at least 10 minutes every hour or two. Simple things can make a huge difference and are not as difficult to work into your lifestyle as more drastic changes.
