Caring For Your Contact Lenses and Your Eyes
If you must remove a lens away from home, do not put it back in your eye until you disinfect it. Remove the other lens and wear eyeglasses instead.
Do not wear contact lenses while swimming. Organisms living in water can contaminate them. If you do wear contacts while swimming, remove them immediately afterward and disinfect them.
If your eyes are red or irritated, don’t wear your contact lenses. Your eyes need oxygen to heal. If symptoms continue visit your doctor.
Artificial tears or prescription medications can help with dry eyes - or you might try contact lenses for dry eyes. If you work at a computer, elevate your chair or lower your monitor so you look down at the screen. This will close your eyelids slightly, reducing the evaporative surface of your eyes. Be sure to blink regularly.
Visit your doctor regularly for eye checkups. Even if your vision is the same, your eyes can change over time and you might need adjustments in your lenses.
