Eating Disorders Are Prevalent Among Teen Girls

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Teenagers are most likely to suffer from an eating disorder. Girls have eating disorders more frequently than boys. This is most likely because there are so many models out there quite thin today and these are the role models our teen girls are looking up to. Eating Disorder Clinics are taking on more and more patients each year with various eating disorders like bulimia and anorexia. It takes medical care and intense therapy for someone to come into remission after suffering with an eating disorder. Further, it is never known if the person is “cured” because so many of these patients fall back into their same pattern of behavior.

Millions of people die worldwide due to some form of cancer. Colorectal cancer happens to be one of the most common types of cancer that usually goes unnoticed in the early stages either due to absence of symptoms or due to presence of symptoms that are very common. Some of the most common early colorectal cancer symptoms include:

· Abdominal pain or discomfort
· Diarrhea, constipation, or change in bowel habits
· Vomiting
· Blood in stools
· Narrow or dark stools

If you are above fifty and are suffering from any of these symptoms, you must see a doctor immediately and undergo the required screening tests for proper diagnosis.

Children’s Allergies

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

If a child has nasal allergies, the parents play an important role in helping to figure out what exactly is causing the symptoms. Further, it is the parent’s job to limit the exposure to allergens and helping the child find relief from their symptoms. Forty percent of children in the United States suffer from chronic nasal allergies. It is important to determine if the allergic symptoms are being caused by indoor allergies or outdoor allergies, and then to pinpoint exactly what is causing the outbreak. Minimize the child’s exposure to the allergen to make them the most comfortable. In this way, medication can be used minimally.

I’ve got a bee in my bonnet lately about Hypnosis to Stop Smoking.
I can’t ever seem to stop smoking permanently.

I am dying to quit smoking, quite literally. I have to find something that works.
I’m sure I’ll have more to say about this down the line.

Delaware Mesothelioma Attorneys: Lung Cancer

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

During the 1980s, Delaware mesothelioma attorneys say, local physicians failed to spot lung diseases among workers at a Cloquet ceiling tile plant called Conwed. To date, at least eight of the hundreds of workers who breathed asbestos there have been diagnosed with or died of mesothelioma, and scores of others have suffered debilitating lung diseases that weren’t spotted until the union at the factory conducted its own screening.Experts say almost all cases of mesothelioma are attributed to asbestos exposure. Smokers exposed to asbestos do increase their risk of contracting lung cancer, however.

What Are My Treatment Options For Frigidity?

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

Frigidity treatment may include several hormone tests that you can conduct from the comfort of your own home.  Home libido, menopause, and andropause tests are all ones that you can perform yourself instead of going into a doctor’s office.  The lack of sexual desire is often a problem in relationships where there is a communication problem.  If the problem is an emotional one, the issue needs to be brought out into the open between the partners.  Seeking a mental health specialist could be very beneficial in frigidity treatment.  There is help for those who need it.  Once the source of the problem has been identified, there are several options that can be explored to help balance the emotions and feelings of the couple.

Can Acid Reflux Disease Be Stopped Or Cured?

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

My fiancee suffers from chronic heartburn, something she calls acid regurgitation and trouble swallowing. She told me that her doctor diagnosed her with acid reflux disease. He prescribed a medication for her, but she has to take it everyday. What I would like to find out from someone out there is if acid reflux disease can be stopped or cured? Or, is my fiancee doomed to take prescription medication for the rest of her life? She has changed her eating habits to a certain extent, and even has bought an acid reflux pillow, but she still needs to take the medication. Any advice?

There Is No Guarantee Of Who Will Or Will Not Get Prostate Cancer

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that a person will not get cancer of the prostate simply by avoiding the non-genetic risk factors. Likewise, just because a person has one or more risk factors does not men that he will develop prostate cancer. To date, scientists do not have an explanation for why some men get prostate cancer while others do not. To say that it is a luck of the draw seems to trivialize getting cancer. However, it is the simplest way to explain something that cannot be easily explained. The best advice is to do all that you can to take care of your body and hope for the best.

Disorders Of The Eye: Get The Facts On Macular Degeneration

Monday, September 29th, 2008

One of the most interesting courses I took, as part of my post graduate education in ophthalmology, had to do with diseases and disorders of the eye. Through this course, I came to realize that there are all sorts of things that can happen to a person’s eyes. Some are treatable and some are not. Sometimes the success of the treatment depends on how quickly the disease is diagnosed, as with macular degeneration. When a person is diagnosed with a disease of the eye, it is important that they promptly educate themselves regarding the details of the disease, including symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and recovery rates so that he or she can more readily understand the facts.
