My ninety one diabetic mother broke her ankle in 2 spots, one on each side of the ankle. After losing the cast and wearing a boot for 6 weeks, the Dr says to wear the boot for 8 more weeks. Is this normal practice? She has difficulty walking in this boot, but,he says her ankle is healed.
