Kermit asked:

I am hoping to train a dog over the course of the next few years to be a diabetic alert dog- sensing low and high blood sugars.

What breed of dog would work best for this? I am hoping to be able to rescue one, not buy.

Thanks!

Sue

Duties of Dental Chairside Assistant

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

Dental Chairside Assistant is one of the fastest growing careers in the medical field today.  According to the information I found on the Internet, there are plenty of opportunities for employment in the Ontario area.  If you are considering a position as a Dental Chairside Assistant, you must graduate from an accredited educational institute or successfully complete an online program.  There are many duties associated with the job of Dental Chairside Assistant.  The assistant is responsible for clinical and administrative responsibilities.  Support staff is the best way to describe the type of work a Dental Chairside Assistant performs.  They provide support for the dentist, dental hygienists, and dental technicians.  Duties are as varied as preparing the work station, escorting the patient to the work station, assisting in procedures, scheduling appointments, and processing insurance forms.  If you want a career that is challenging and financially rewarding, Dental Chairside Assistant is the job for you.

Is it a Good Time to Consider a Pharmacy Career?

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

Government statistics show that eight of 20 occupations projected to grow the fastest are in health care, with most workers having pharmacy jobs that require less than four years of college education. More new wage and salary jobs were created between 2004 and 2014 in healthcare than in any other industry. All these facts show that now is the time to pursue a pharmacy career - in just 36 weeks, you could be working in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospital, pharmacy, medical or dental clinic, physician’s or dentist’s office, assisted living facility, independent billing company, HMO, physical therapy center, or other exciting settings. There is a shortage of competent, well-trained healthcare support personnel.

Do you know of any good sites for diabetic menus/recipes?

Saturday, March 7th, 2009
diabetic
pebble asked:

My father has just been diagnosed as a borderline diabetic. He is about 30 pounds overweight and has been told losing weight would reverse the diabetes. However, he and my mom are having trouble creating a menu plan using guidelines aimed for diabetics. I would like to give them some sites to help out. Something free would be ideal as they are both retired.

How does the diabetic medication glimipiride work in the system?

Thursday, March 5th, 2009
diabetic
Maria Therese asked:

New doctors have found out I was misdiagnosed with diabetes. There were problems with the glucose tolerance test. My doctor said I had hypoglycemia. He told me I needed to be treated with diabetic medication. What effect would the glimiperide have on my system? Did it make my pancreas increase my insulin levels, trying to lower my blood sugar levels ? However it worked, it really has my endocrine system all messed up. Does anyone know about this?
