Teenagers are most likely to suffer from an eating disorder. Girls have eating disorders more frequently than boys. This is most likely because there are so many models out there quite thin today and these are the role models our teen girls are looking up to. Eating Disorder Clinics are taking on more and more patients each year with various eating disorders like bulimia and anorexia. It takes medical care and intense therapy for someone to come into remission after suffering with an eating disorder. Further, it is never known if the person is “cured” because so many of these patients fall back into their same pattern of behavior.

It is, I suppose, a normal human desire to want a perfect shape, or a perfect face, or a perfect…well, you fill in the blank with the body part or parts with which you are most dissatisfied!

I learned of a technique that shows promise for liposuction without surgery - laser liposuction. It sounds interesting. It is not, however, liposuction in the classic sense.

Like ultrasound treatment, laser ‘liposuction’ melts the fat under skin and the fat then dissolves into the surrounding tissues, so it is more of an ablation technique than classic liposuction. Still, it sounds extremely interesting - especially if it allows me to get back to work right away.
