Disorders Of The Eye: Get The Facts On Macular Degeneration

Monday, September 29th, 2008

One of the most interesting courses I took, as part of my post graduate education in ophthalmology, had to do with diseases and disorders of the eye. Through this course, I came to realize that there are all sorts of things that can happen to a person’s eyes. Some are treatable and some are not. Sometimes the success of the treatment depends on how quickly the disease is diagnosed, as with macular degeneration. When a person is diagnosed with a disease of the eye, it is important that they promptly educate themselves regarding the details of the disease, including symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and recovery rates so that he or she can more readily understand the facts.

A Surgery Without Blood For Pancreatic Tumors.

Friday, September 26th, 2008

Of course you may think that there is no way there could be any kind of surgery without blood coming out and you are absolutely right but a bloodless surgery in this context means that there should be no need for a blood transfusions because there are always risks with them. When performing a surgery on pancreatic tumors, control over the surgery is a must. There is already potential dangers when performing these types of surgeries and adding the potential dangers of possible contaminated blood transfusions is something that the doctors would rather not have to deal with because anything could happen.

Issues With Power Wheelchairs

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

I’ve recently become interested in Power Wheelchairs.
I’m tired of being limited in mobility by my manual wheelchair. Besides, a power wheelchair looks like fun to me.
I’ve been researching Power Wheelchairs on the Internet, and have found lots of great options.
In any event, whicheve model it is, a new powered wheelchair will make my life much easier.
Maybe you can help settle the matter - feel free to comment.

What is Sciatica Pain?

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Sciatica is a fairly common form of lower back pain and leg pain. The sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in your body, running from your spinal cord to your buttocks and hip area and down the back of each leg.  Sciatica is a set of symptoms, including the pain that may be the cause of compression or irritation of the sciatic nerve.  The pain is felt in the lower back, buttocks and parts of the leg and foot, and may be accompanied by numbness, muscular weakness, difficulty moving or controlling the leg, and usually only on one side of your body.  Sciatica is not a diagnosis for what is causing the irritation to the nerve, it is the complete set of symptoms .

Regarding Dental Assisting

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

My job stinks. I’ve been thinking of making a change - something that won’t require too much school, but is a cut above bartending. I was told to check out dental assisting. I suppose dealing with bad breath and fillings beats getting groped by drunks.
After poking around on the web reading up on How To Become A Dental Assistant, I think it’s worth considering. The pay does appear to be better than I’m making now, and the hours are decent.
I can’t wait to ditch my current boss - so it may be worth it to do the training at night or over the weekend.
I’ll keep you posted.

The blepharoplasty surgical proceedure

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Undergoing blepharoplasty surgery can result in a more alert, youthful appearance without an extreme makeover, and after surgery you will still look like yourself, only younger and more vibrant. Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is a surgical procedure that removes excess folds of skin in the upper lids and pouches under the eyes (lower lids), and whether to improve your appearance, your vision, or both, reconstructive surgery usually produces a very pleasing effect and gives you a more rested, youthful look.

Understand The Causes Of Eating Disorders

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

Treatment at eating disorder clinics are geared towards addressing the root causes of eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia, two of the most common eating disorders. Often, people who are suffering from these eating disorders also suffer from some destructive negative thoughts against their own self-image. Regardless to how fit they appear to be, they will find something wrong with their body. As a result, they travel down a self-destructive path of starvation, vomiting, and exercise. Somewhere in that person’s history is a traumatic event which has caused them to place a negative association with food and unhealthy eating habits

Learning About Electric Wheelchairs

Friday, September 19th, 2008

So lately I’ve been wondering about Electric Wheelchairs.
I’d like to be able to move around town more easily. The hills in this neighborhood just wear me out.
I’ve been digging up info on Power Wheelchair With Lift Seat, and have found several models I’d like to check out in more detail.
Of course I’ll have to make sure to keep up my exercise once I get my new electric wheelchair. But I’m not too worried about it.
What do you think?
