There are many consequences to smoking cigarettes. Everyone knows the risks, yet they continue to smoke. Using natural ways to quit smoking is not always enough. Sometimes you need to be scared straight. There are lists of diseases that you are at a higher risk of developing because of smoking. Some of these diseases included are, heart disease, high blood pressure, lung cancer, diabetes, thyroid problems and depression. Not to mention respiratory diseases such as COPD and emphysema. Most people don’t realize that as soon as they stop smoking many of these risk factors diminish. Just one hour after you stop smoking your blood pressure and heart rate go down. Just 24 hours after you stop smoking it is thought your chance of having a heart attack goes down dramatically. And just 2 weeks after quitting you will be able to breathe easier, you will cough less and you will have more energy.
