The new cpr guidelines do not apply to certain victims.
Monday, April 28th, 2008If you ar an emt, a paramedic, or one of the many Americans that are certified in cpr, I'm sure you are aware of the fact that there are new guidelines regarding cpr. Rescue breaths are no longer given to the majority of cardiac arrest victims. Chest compressions only are administered. The new cpr guidelines do not apply to certain victims though. The new guidelines apply only to adults. Rescue breaths must still be administered to infants and children. Rescue breaths must also be given when drowning or a drug overdose is the reason for the arrest.
