My grandmother suffers from severe hearing loss, not from injury or illness, but from old age. She is almost ninety years old. So we decided to get her a hearing aid. We thought we could read some hearing aids consumer reports but what we discovered was that hearing loss is so different for different people, that reviews about hearing aids were not particularly helpful. We had to find a hearing aid that not only fit her ear and lifestyle, but was also tuned to the frequencies where she suffered from hearing loss. We eventually tried out three different types until we found one that worked. The Consumer Reports are helpful in finding a company that is reliable and trustworthy, but picking a best hearing aid for all people is like trying to pick the best mattress for someone; everyone has different needs and expectations.
